Mercer Island Residence

Two Dog Timberworks was called upon to build the beautiful old growth cedar trellis that adds detail to the front of the home. The copper roof gently curves to highlight the front door and entry. The huge wood columns are modeled after the Greene and Greene Brothers architecture from the early 1900’s. Iron bands, fashioned, by a local blacksmith, bind the wood together. Each column is scribed into a stone support, further reinforcing the architectural tie between the building and nature. The rear deck railing is a combination of teak and stainless steel with a woven copper and stainless steel screen. This railing provides visual weight and substance when seen from the water yet allows guests to enjoy the breathtaking view from the upper floor decks without obstruction. Behind the BBQ, the copper backsplash is hammered in a flame pattern to tie visually with the railing and provide texture and interest to the wall surface. This home has such a great cozy and inviting feel throughout that makes it hard to leave.
